Day 75 - What Would You Do?
Norman wasn't sure what to do. Should he tell the dinosaur there was something hanging out of his nose or just let the poor fellow walk around like that for the rest of the day?

Day 74 - Robots in Space (Space, Space)
Admittedly, this is not my best work and perhaps a bit of a cop out. However, I needed to make a reward chart for my son, so I made this using some robot/alien stickers my mother-in-law gave us.
(And, of course, the "Robots in Space (Space, Space)" is my shout-out to the old Muppet Show. I miss you, Pigs in Space.)

Day 73 - If I Had a Robot . . .
Hypothesis: I will ask the boys to do a journal entry entitled, "If I Had a Robot," and it will be a fun, creative assignment.
Conclusion: I am surrounded by too much testosterone.

Day 72 - Cheerio!
I was going for "Robots Rule," but a chubby little hand starting destroying my progress. I snapped this picture quickly while hurling meaningless verbal threats at the confused and hungry 10-month-old.

Day 70 - Beginning "The Sketchbook Project"
I got my sketchbook a couple of days ago in the mail, so I'm officially starting The Sketchbook Project . . . in the 10 spare minutes I had in the car while waiting for my son. This page is on its way to becoming a fantastic robot collage. Exciting, huh?

Day 69 - Sew Fantastic!
I took sewing in 4-H . . . about 25 years ago. I think I've still got it, don't you?
Head, Heart, Hands, and Health! Gooooooooo, 4-H!

Day 66 - Clockwork Blue
I'm trying to teach the boys' to tell time. Apparently, the 5th grader can't remember how. The 3rd grader doesn't care. And the Kindergartener has no concept of time.
The baby just wants to eat the styrofoam.

Day 64 - Shiver Me Timbers!
That's right, it's September 19 - International Talk Like a Pirate Day!!
(I tried to make the skull and crossbones look like a robot head over two wrenches. It didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. Luckily, Norman's pretty forgiving.)
"Arrrrr! I be Norman, Robot Scourge o' the Sea!
Weigh anchor, Scallywag, or be measured fer yer chains."

Day 63 - 14 Toothpicks and 2 Blue M&Ms
What can you make with 14 toothpicks and 2 blue M&Ms?
[Irrelevant Sidenote: I am fundamentally opposed to blue M&Ms. I don't know what possessed them to take out the diarrhea color and add blue, but I refuse to eat them on principle. Thus, the reason I have two sitting on the table and not in my belly. Take that, M&M Makers!]

Day 61 - There Once Was a Bot . . .
An Illustrated Limerick!
There once was a bot from under the sea
Who liked to whistle a ditty or three;
He must've been deaf,
Or so said the chef,
Because even his breaths were off-key.
[Okay, so Chef Crab looks like a train engineer--sue me. Using only dull, chewed-on crayons doesn't lend itself to frills like erasing or accuracy or Picasso-like brilliance. Because the crayons are the problem, not me.]

Day 60 - A Waxy Mess
So I had this great idea to cut up crayons, arrange them in the shape of a robot head, and then "bake"/melt it in the oven.
Apparently, 5 minutes at 300 degrees is too long. It turned into a big blob of liquid. Once it cooled some, I salvaged this much of it.
Adding eyes still doesn't seem to make it look more like a robot head.
So I made it an odd robot munchkin.
Make me feel better--pretend it's cool.
(Note to self: Crayons and ovens need closer supervision.)

Day 58 - Norman the Conqueror
"Rise, infidel, and defend yourself!"
With sword brandished high, Norman prepared to eradicate the horrific beast. Somehow, he felt unchivalrous attacking an enemy unaware. "Pretending to sleep, hmmmm? Well played, hermit crab, well played."

Day 55 - Bot Bookmark
I came across these monster page bookmarks and thought they were a great idea (tallystreasury.com/2011/02/corner-page-bookmarks-3/), but I had to change it up--robot-style.

Day 54 - Collage of Robot Awesomeness
Today, we started a large poster board collage. Everything will be hand-drawn and colored--with the intent of eventually covering up all traces of white.
Norman is acting project supervisor.

Day 53 - Art Appreciation
Norman didn't know what to make of the art piece. What happened to basic landscapes? You know, like Bob Ross used to make.

Day 52 - Lesson Plans
Right now, I'm supposed to be preparing for my first week of homeschooling . . . so I made a robot in Microsoft Word with those little drawing tools. Who cares if the lesson plans are actually made as long as the binder looks good? Time well spent.
